The average turnaround time for delivery of Passport is no later than twelve weeks but usually less. Kindly note that this countdown begins after biometric enrollment and barring any issue like corrections or change of Passport data or NIN data.

Also note that Nigerian Pssports are produced and mailed to applicants through the self-addressed return envelope submitted by the applicants at their in-person biometrics appointment.

To track the status of your Nigerian Passport application, visit the Track your Application Status portal of the Nigeria Immigration Service and provide the necessary information

When the Production segment of the Passport Application Status shows Passport Issued and every segment is ticked, you may then track your self-addressed return envelope with your Austrian Post Tracking Number to know the location of your Passport.

The NIS Passport payment platform accommodates payment for a maximum of five people at a time. Kindly note that one of the applicants must be the cardholder. Upon successful payment, a payment confirmation will be sent by email.

If you experience difficulties making an online payment, you may attempt payment again with a different Card.

These include the following:

1. Error in the arrangement of names (i.e. first, middle and last name), other than as it appears on one's expired passport;
2. Mismatch of NIN and Nigerian Passport details;
3. Inconsistency in date of birth;
4. Presentation of an expired passport other than the most recently expired Passport;
5. Delayed posting of Passport payment to the Nigeria Immigration Service portal; and
6. Non-submission of a self-addressed, return envelope.

1. Complete an online application for renewal of your Nigerian Passport with the NEW name(s).
2. Pay a non-refundable administrative fee of N33,000 (payable online with a Nigerian debit card).
3. Thereafter, submit to the Embassy during enrollment:
   1. A handwritten and signed application for change of data,
   2. Copy of the proof of payment of N33,000 and
   3. Supporting documents for the Change of Name (e.g. Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate or Court Affidavit).

All first-time applicants must provide the following:

1. Duly completed and signed online application form and guarantor form,
2. Proof of online application payment
3. Birth certificate or Certificate of Origin and Identification issued by the applicant’s Local Government Area of origin in Nigeria;
4. Two Passport photographs.

For the re-issuance of an expired or expiring Nigerian e-Passport, the following are required:

1. Duly completed online Application
2. Proof of payment with scheduled appointment
3. Original copy of the expired/expiring e-Passport for the Interview
