Authentication of Certificate of Free Sale


The Embassy of Nigeria Vienna provides Authentication of Certificates of Free Sale for Austrian and Slovak.-manufactured goods intended for export to Nigeria. This service verifies that the product in question is lawfully sold in Austria/Slovakia and is approved for general commercial distribution, as required by regulatory authorities in Nigeria.

Applicants must submit the under listed required documents to process an Authentication of Certificate of Free Sale:

  1. A Covering Letter addressed to the Embassy of Nigeria provided on the Exporting Company's Letterhead, requesting for authentication of the document.
  2. Kindly note that all original documents and their photocopies must be submitted for sighting at the Embassy of Nigeria, Vienna
  3. Also note that all original documents must be notarized.
  4. Certificate of Free Sale issued by the Department of Health of the Province where the product is manufactured, stating that the product is manufactured and widely distributed or used in the province and in Austria/Slovakia.
  5. Certificate Analysis of the product.
  6. Certificate of Registration of the Company that manufactures the product
  7. Power of Attorney
  8. Payment of €200 per stamp is mandatory and must be made at the Embassy.
  9. Samples of the product must be submitted with the documents for authentication
  10. A prepaid, self-addressed, Austrian Postal Service express or priority envelope with tracking number. This is required for mailed requests.
