Citizenship Attestation Certificate
A Citizenship Attestation Certificate is issued at the discretion of the Embassy of Nigeria Vienna to Nigerians who do not have the State of Origin Certificate issued by their Local Government Council. It is also issued to children born outside Nigeria to Nigerian parent(s).
The following documents are required to apply for a Citizenship Attestation Certificate:
- Duly completed application form which can be filled and submitted at the bottom of this page.
- Two Passport Photographs. Applicants are requested to kindly write their name on the back side of their passport picture.
- Photocopy of Applicants Passport Data Page.
- Birth Certificate or Attestation of Birth document issued by the National Population Commission or a Court Affidavit or Declaration of Age document from Nigeria.
- Photocopy of Applicant's Parent(s) Passport Data page. This is required for applicants without a Nigerian Passport.
- Proof of Change of Name, for example a Marriage Certificate for married women who changed their Last Name.
- The admin charges for this service is €40 payable at the Embassy
- A self-addressed pre-paid Austrian Post Return Envelope. Applicants are also encouraged to note the tracking number for use later.
